Started out well, following the Danube for a bit.

The first climb was manageable, but it got hotter and hotter: temperatures between 35°C and 41°C were measured in the area we cycled through. Along the Schwarze Laaber it was quite pleasant, though. We found a very nice ‘Mühle’ (mill) to have a light lunch at.

The heat got too much for me on the second climb of the day, although it was mainly through forest. So we decided to change our destination and not cycle across another two ridges, but instead follow the Wesslinger Laaber to the Altmühl.

Due to it being Saturday, sunny and dry and in the Bavarian school holidays it was actually not easy to find accommodation. In the end we profited from a cancellation in Beilngries.

Due to the heat much more strenuous than it should have been, but the advantage of cycling is the adaptability.
