Wanted to take the S-Bahn in to the main station to catch the train to Memmingen, just to find out shortly before departure time that there was a problem at Ostbahnhof. So we cycled in and saw this amazing rainbow.
We missed our intended train by one minute and just took the next one.
The whole of the ‘Allgaeu’ is fairly undulating, so we had a few climbs to get to Illerbeuren and our lunch in the museum restaurant there.
After crossing the Iller on an old railway bridge and gently climbed. It really started raining about halfway, at Leutkirch. So we had a coffee break.
The next 25 km were completed in a downpour and against fairly strong wind. When we got to Wangen we were quite wet despite good rain gear, but still took time to look around the old town.
Our room in the hotel is rather small to dry our stuff.
