Nesselwang – Lechbruck, 47km (30.9.24)

A lot of climbing between Nesselwang and Füssen after our late start. It became very obvious, that flatter alternatives were possible and would have been easy, but the designers of the route apparently had e-bikes in mind. This was acknowledged by the tourist information in Füssen, where we had our first break.

During this break we looked at our options for the next few days in light of the weather forecast, which predicted rain for the Alpine area. After having become quite wet again in the morning we wanted to avoid it as much as possible in the future, so decided to head North along the Lech rather than continuing on along the Bodensee – Königsee -Radweg. So along the Forggensee we went, with more views of Neuschwanstein.

It is still hilly here, so we reached about 500m in climbing again, especially as our hotel in Lechbruck is up on a hill, it has magnificent views of the Alps.

Trying to plan ahead a little bit it seems harder to find any accommodation, an effect of the Oktoberfest?
