Broke a record today, we climbed over 1000m to get on top of the Schwäbische Alb.

The cycling started really nicely following a little stream out of Plieningen. Lots of horses and beautiful scenery.

After our first climb of the day we dropped down to the Neckar just after Ploching, where we had our first break. They have interesting solutions for cobble stones.

As we wanted to re-mount Phil had a puncture in his rear tire. We found a bike shop up the hill. Turns out the owner only works on bikes on Saturday mornings, normally he is a CEO. He used to be a racing cyclist. Turns out the inner tube had a manufacturing fault near the valve.

On the further way there were quite a few interesting art works on roundabouts, the highlights in Eislingen.

Another wonderful cycle highway led us to Geislingen.

Then the pain started – I remember the Geislinger Steige from 3.5 years ago, and I had to get off and push again….
On the way we passed Märklin and WMF.

Great weather all day as well, as is evident in the pictures.
