The morning started early, we had to retrieve the sheep before traffic started on the streets in Betzendorf. It all went really well, Elsa was well prepared, so we were back by 7:00.

Then Elsa had to do a handover to her boss before she packed and we had breakfast. We were ready to leave at 10:00, by which time it was pouring. We braved the rain and cycled our first 25 km to Bispingen, where we had excellent lunch, during which we dried out a bit.

Elsa had lied to me, she said I would always have to wait for her taking pictures and she would be much slower – it was exactly the other way around. The countryside is beatiful here, and there are (mainly good) bike paths. Soltau was the only bigger place, and that is not large. We arrived at the nunnery of Walsrode, where we have a pilgrims’ room for the night, in time.

Elsa was famished and fell upon the little food we had brought. Then we had a little look around our location, beautiful! It had also stopped raining by now.

So a good start to another bike tour together.
