Kloschwitz – Markkleeberg, 83km (7.9.22)

As there were thunderstorms predicted for the afternoon I got going reasonably early. The atmosphere on the campsite overlooking the Saale was special.

After having seen the enormous construction site for a motorway just before (apparently it should have been finished by 2003, but there were delays because the Greens were opposed), stopped of for breakfast at the market at Halle (Saale) – quite an impressive church there.

Then followed Holger‘s advice and took the Elster-route in the direction of Leipzig, another bicycle route following a river – and I always seem to be taking them up-river. Veered off the route just before Leipzig to get into the Landkreis, my reason for coming this way. Once I got tot he Cospuder See I started to recognise things form our Kreistag-visit here in June. I am actually staying at the same hotel, an inclusion-project I want to support. So far no thunderstorm…
