The day before was a rest day that we used to explore the Cloppenburg open air museum, which also hosted a craft fair that day, and watch ‘Glennkill’ at the cinema. The following pictures are Elke’s, they capture the day very well.

That day remained dry, while my day cycling to Cloppenburg did not. It was one of those waterproof jacket-on-off-on-off-… days. Luckily I was having lunch indoors during the worst shower.

Somehow, after the rest day, the cycling went really well, my first break was after more than 40km. Some of the route was on a good bike path along a major road, but most of it was beautiful again. I happened to partly be following the route for gables, here some examples

I certainly missed my cycling companion of the last few days, Elsa, and all the talking, catching up and conversation the three/four of us enjoyed at Elke and Ralf’s.
