Spent a wonderful as well as very practical weekend in Braunschweig with Phil. The weather was great, we wandered about a lot ( even had a guided tour), ate well and talked a lot. As my panniers were finally coming apart at the seems, Phil had brought a pair of front panniers that used to be Alex’. I then bought a large set for the back, and of course had totally repack… Ah well, they match quite well, even the bike.
Considering I had done a work-placement in Braunschweig 33 years ago, I was amazed how little I remembered and knew about the city. As is my want we also visited the tourist information office, where a bike route covering my next bit to Magdeburg sprang out at me. Had to say goodbye to Phil in the afternoon and set off for a fairly uneventful ride. I arrived at the campsite at 17:59, they just let me in still…
