Düren – Bonn, 66km (9.8.26)

Our surprise of the day was Zülpich,  a place with a Roman history and an old castle.

And a wonderful lake for swimming, which we took advantage of for an hour – very refreshing. Unfortunately I only took the picture,  when we were a bit further away already.

Phil also took the opportunity to pump up his back tyre, the first time we used one of those bike-repair columns.

Lunch was in Euskirchen,  very pleasant. As you can see, the bikes are excellent drying racks.

Coming into Bonn was a long downhill into the Rhine valley. We are actually staying at the same hotel as a week ago (not the picture), something we had not expected.
